Alex Ramirez, PT, is a physical therapist who has been working with Dr. Ted Edwards since 1989.

Alex received his master's degree in physical therapy from Emory University in 1984. He provided acute care and rehabilitation for both inpatient and outpatient treatment at the North Fulton Medical Center in Roswell, Georgia. He became a staff therapist at the Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center in Melbourne, Florida shortly thereafter and developed a comprehensive back school to educate others. In 1987 to 1989, he treated back and neck patients at the Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital, also in Melbourne.

His extensive training in a variety of manual therapy and manipulative techniques for the treatment of painful spinal and musculoskeletal problems includes the highly effective McKenzie approach. He has been a credentialed practitioner in the McKenzie Method for over 10 years. His expertise led him to provide fourteen years of special care for the rehabilitation of head-injured adults in Texas.

Alex has studied and practiced Shiatsu, Japanese acupressure massage, and other natural healing techniques giving him more in-depth knowledge of the workings of the human body. His continuing education has included a wide array of courses in sports medicine over the years.
Alex's avid interest in fencing brought about his involvement in training and treating national fencing champions and a subsequent article in American Fencing Magazine on the treatment of ankle sprains. He studied at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and is certified by the United States Fencing Association as a foil and epee coach. Alex currently coaches athletes at the Texas Fencing Academy.

When you come to The Hills Medical Group for physical therapy you'll always receive one-on-one care with Alex.
